Posted on Facebook by his family: I am sure some people have heard by now, but we wanted to let everyone know that our dad, Bob Miller, passed away peacefully in his sleep late Tuesday evening. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed so much by all of us. We will be setting up a get together to celebrate his life in the next couple of months once Marlene is back up on her feet.

Bob Miller, member number 24, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, in his sleep.  Marlene fell on December 22 and broke her hip.  For a while, she was in the same retirement home as Bob.  Marlene is now back in her home.

Marlene is still recovering from her hip surgery, so no date for a memorial service for Bob has been set.

I know Marlene will appreciate cards.  A valid phone number for Marlene is 513-919-9038.

Please cross off the other phone number (503-622-6813) listed in the Chevrolet Nomad Association directory.

I just received word from Greg that Monty Hollertz has passed away. His family owned Chevyland off the interstate at Elm Creek. For you long time members this brings back memories of several trips to Chevyland. We camped out and played car games and watched movies at night with the building for a screen. Many years ago his wife and her sister were killed by his wife’s brother in law at Chevyland. After that it was mostly closed but you could still see cars in the windows from the interstate. Monty’s funeral will be Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Holdrige NE.

Paul and Sally Miller

Today with a very heavyheart we are using social media to notify our many friends of a very horrific motorcycle accident that happened on Easter Sunday involving our eldest son Pauly. We are still asking for prayers of healing for Pauly, his friends and family. Pauly is going to be leaving us physically but will be living through others as he has wished to donate all possible organs. Pauly will forever live on through the memories we have of him. We must continue on to have prayers over the next few days as tests are run and recipients are found for his organs. Today a ceremony will be held at 4PM to acknowledge his donations and giving life to others at Condell Hospital in Libertyville IL. Please, please, please continue to pray. Updated (04/25/19)

A 1956 Nomad VIN # VC5600319918 has been reported missing from
Wichita, Kansas.
The car is believed to have been stolen on April 4, 2018, from Service
Body Shop in western Wichita.
The owners say the Nomad was parked outside the shop where
they had taken it to have some paint work redone. The shop owner
thought the owners had picked it up.
Roger and Barbara Sorensen of Derby, Kansas, bought the Nomad
in 2011. Recently they had taken it to the body shop to have it
repainted burgundy and rose two-tone. Barbara Sorensen said they
were not satisfied with the paint work and had taken it back to have
some of it redone.
The Nomad has custom wheels, rose fabric upholstery on the
interior and rose etching on the wing windows. It has an LS-1 engine.
“We’ve had flyers made up and have taken them to several car
shows in the area,” Barbara said. Pictures are also posted on
Facebook.
Anyone with information on this Nomad is asked to contact Roger
and Barbara Sorensen at 316-788-2645 or e-mail:

Department.

Received the following from Ed & Mary Robertson

We were looking forward to the Nomad Nationals. Since 1973, we have been able to attend each year and it was always been a highlight of our summer plans. Plans can suddenly change drastically.
We will have to miss the convention next month. Our son, Eddie, who took over the family business when we retired 10 years ago is having some serious health issues. He is back in the hospital after a 9 day stay earlier for foot surgery. Apparently his diabetes is causing complications with the healing process. The doctors told us today that he will have a long recovery period so we are back on the road working. No time for fun and games. Family before pleasure.
Y’all have fun – we will miss being there for sure. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I wanted to send you a quick note about Dick Stokes latest acheivement with his recently finished ’56. .He brought the Nomad to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Street Rod Nationals in Pueblo as a shakedown run before the Convention. His stunning Nomad was selected as one of the NSRA top picks of the entire show of close to 2000 cars.

I know he is extremely modest and downplays his work, but he’s earned a little recognition. You’ll see at the convention the Nomad is stunning and chock full of details it might take all week to find. Can you post this to the Bits-n-Pieces section?

Finding only a short comment on the web page about Jim I thought I should write.
Jim had a battle with kidney disease for the last 2 years. He was stage 5 renal failure.
He had just finished two weeks of testing at MAYO Hospital to get on the transplant list.
He received confirmation that he was on the list the last week of November. He was very encouraged by this news.
On Dec 4th I found him – not himself – in bed and called 911. He was in ICU for 5 days.
A severe heart attack and major stroke took him from us. He was never concious to talk to us or say goodbye.
He left me with a broken heart. The boys and I were not finished with The Man yet. We love him so.
My deepest thanks to all the Nomad friends who sent cards and those who came to the small service we had on Dec 17th.
The love and support from our Nomad Family has been overwhelming.
Thank you !!
