BURCH, ROBERT PAUL, Known as Bob or Bobby to friends and family, Robert
Paul Burch was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 16th,1946. He
graduated from St. Paul Park High School class of 1964 and while he was
there, he would have been voted "Most Likely to
be Sent to the Principal's Office." After graduation, he
trained as a service technician and began working for General Electric.
It was
never his intention to be the lowest rung on the ladder, so he
started working his way up the food chain and managed to exceed
everyone's expectations but his own. He had a thriving 20-year
career with GE before being recruited by Coca-Cola. This required a
move to Dallas, Texas where he decided to stay. After leaving
Coca-Cola, he knew that the corporate life was not for him. He
wanted to own a business, to be his own boss, thus,
AC-Appliance Pros was born. Yet again, Bob excelled at business strategy
and
leadership; he and his wife Caryn built a t hriving air
conditioning and heating company together. No matter what, Bob still
went
home every year to see his mother, Lillian, and take her to the
famous Minnesota State Fair. Even though he has been fighting
cancer for the last year and a half, he managed to give his
daughter, Windie, away in marriage twice (to the same man)! Bob was
so proud that Windie wanted to become involved in the business
so that his legacy could live on. Bob always knew that there was a
soul mate out there just waiting to be found. It might have
taken him many years, but he found her. Bob and Caryn were made for
each other. She was not only his partner in life, she was also
his business partner. They enjoyed life by playing with their antique
cars, scuba diving, and traveling all over the world. Bob is
survived by his wife Caryn Burch, his daughter Windie Burch Smith, his
step-daughter Heather Claytor, his mother Lillian Burch, his
brother Mark Burch, his sister Paula Burch, a host of other relat ives
and
so many friends it is hard to count. Bob lived life wide open.
He did more living in the time that he was here than most people do in
twice as many years. He touched many lives with his generosity
and good humor and he will be missed by us all. There will be two
memorial services: the first will be held at Bent Tree Bible
Church in Carrollton, Texas on Friday, March 31st at 6pm (972)306-4477.
the second will be held at Summit Church in St. Paul, Minnesota
on Saturday, April 8th at 11am (651)228-0811. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
or 1-800-ACS-2345. Restland 972-238-7111
