Eric & Belinda

Colorado Springs, CO

I bought this car in 1970 while stationed at March AFB, CA.

Back then it had a 1965 365 hp/ 327 cu. in. Corvette engine, Muncie M-20 4-speed,

5-spoke American mags, gross yellow paint job by Earl Schieb.

I attended the Nomad Convention in Reno in 1973. It was fun! I sold it in 1976 to Dave Oster of Troy, NY

In July 1999 Dave called late one night and asked if I wanted to buy it back.

We've been fixing it up ever since.

It now has a 1968 327 that's mildly warmed over with a Crane Blueprint Series cam,

Edelbrock Performer EPS intake, Edelbrock Performer carb, Roto-Faze distributor with a Pertronix module and coil,

same Muncie M-20, same Hurst Competition + shifter.

I installed a "California" frame, 4-wheel power disc brakes, 605 power steering,

new interior, Ididit tilt column, sway bars.

Dave painted it Midnight Metallic Blue with a Pearl White top.

Little did we both know that our plans and life would forever change

after attending the convention in Park City in 2003. In April 2004 Belinda was

diagnosed with breast cancer and immediately placed on chemotherapy.

The treatment, however, was too little too late. She lost her battle to cancer on August 24, 2004.

Though she is gone her spirit will always be with me on my travels in the Nomad.

She will always be in the “shotgun” seat watching over me and sharing in my joy of the classic car and Nomad hobby.

See you in Charlotte!
