Jack & Audrey
The story behind getting this Nomad is a little different than most you read
or hear about. I didn’t have one as a kid, no one in my family ever had
one. Therefore I didn’t learn to drive in one or meet my wife of almost 29
years with one. In fact, I never saw one in person until the day I bought
it. The Nomad has been a winter project for the past 12 years. It has been
a complete, frame off restoration of which I have done all the work except
the paint, upholstery and the engine machine work.
The engine (350 4 bolt main) and transmission (350 TH) are out of a 1976
Chevy van. The injection system is an Edelbrock EFI system, which included
the intake manifold, injectors, fuel rails, throttle body, all the sensors
and the engine control computer. The pulley set up came from March
Performance, the valve covers and breathers are from Billet Specialties, the
oil and transmission dipsticks are Locar and the air cleaner is from
Bitchin' Products. Headers are by S & S Headers in Arizona.
